Lady Wildcats unable to match the Mustangs' might
The Greater Latrobe Girls Lacrosse team headed to the home of the Plum Mustangs. Even with the wet field conditions the Lady Wildcats were itching for a good competitive game. The Mustangs did not aim to disappoint, and opened up the scoring of the game within the first two minutes of play. A quick strike from Plum's Kylie Fischer allowed the Mustangs to take a lead early in the game. However, the Lady Wildcats answered with a goal of their own and Senior Carolina Walters was credited with that goal. The rest of the first half of regulation would see the Mustangs score 7 points before half time, and the Lady Wildcats would have 5 points.
Just like the weather the goals continued to rain down on both teams. Greater Latrobe started the goal-fest with a behind the back flick from junior Riley Quinn after just two minutes off the clock. A goal from senior Sarah Matsko would allow the Lady Wildcats to be tied up with the Mustangs at 7-7 with just under twenty minutes left in regualtion. This did not last long as the Mustangs' Dannika Susko would score with 15:54 on the board. After Plum took the lead they ran away with it the rest of the game. The final score of the evening was Plum 12 and Greater Latrobe 8.
The Greater Latrobe Girls Lacrosse team now has a record of 6-6 and have a game coming up on Tuesday, May 10th at Mount Lebanon. They will close out the season with a final game at Rossi Field on Wednesday, May 11th against Peters Township.
